Support Habitat Conservation on Vashon-Maury Here's what you can do to help the Land Trust preserve the island:
The Land Trust is always involved in raising funds to acquire parcels with quality habitat and public access. By donating to the Opportunity Fund, you provide us with cash to make quick purchases where lands might otherwise get purchased and become developed.
The Endowment Fund will provide the Land Trust with a reliable stream of income over time, to make sure we can properly care for our preserves into the future. a) Work Parties are offered once or twice a month for folks to get some exercise by helping with such projects as planting trees, pulling weeds, or building trails. To sign up for monthly email notices, contact Abel Eckhardt at abel@vashonlandtrust.org. b) Property Stewards watch and care for specific places. See the Stewardship page on this web site for a job description, or contact Abel Eckhardt at abel@vashonlandtrust.org. c) Wildlife Monitors get involved in special projects to gather data on the health and populations of wildlife. Contact Abel Eckhardt at abel@vashonlandtrust.org. d) Office Volunteers can tackle special projects or can offer a regular set of hours for office work. Contact Beth Bordner at beth@vashonlandtrust.org. e) Education Volunteers can staff booths at community, educational, and fundraising events. Contact Beth Bordner at beth@vashonlandtrust.org.
