Whispering Firs Bog Spring Tours

Saturday, May 11th @ 9am, 10am & 11am (each tour limited to 10 people – reserve your space soon)

You’ve all been very patient, waiting for the next opportunity to view “The Bog”. The next time is now here and, once again, we are opening this hidden, fragile and exotic habitat to small guided groups. If you’ve been curious about the miniature landscape and want to learn about its history and ecology, join local Whispering Firs Bog expert, and VHS science teacher, Dr. Tom DeVries for a chance to see it in person.

Tours are $5 per family for Land Trust members, $25 per family for non-members, by reservation. Space is limited to 10 people per tour.

PLEASE NOTE: The short hike down and into the Bog involves tricky and unstable footing over slippery terrain. Boots with traction, or other sturdy footwear, strongly recommended. Also, once in the Bog, this is more of a “stand & see” tour than a walking tour with no place for restless young ones to move around. Therefore, kids aged 12 and over only, please.
